Tourism Academy

The Albanian Adventure Tourism Academy (AATA) exists to fill a real gap: professionally trained outdoor guides. As part of AAR, it feeds the centre’s need for professionals across the 15 outdoor sports planned around the site, and aims to put Albania on the map for edu-tourism.

What AATA does within AAR

• Trains adventure tourism professionals — guides, managers and others
• Develops and runs education programmes with Albania’s Ministry of Education and Sports (MES)
• Hosts national and international sports championships, festivals and team-building events
• Welcomes Albanian and foreign student exchange programmes

Core activities

• Training — curriculum development for adventure tourism professionals, and capacity building for educators and MES programme coordinators
• MES education programme development — curricula for ages 10–18, and for year-round activities
• Raising awareness — regional press trips, roundtables and events promoting adventure tourism training across the Balkans
