Destination

Osumi Canyons, Skrapar — the Vjosa River, the holy mountain of Tomorr, and the UNESCO town of Berat.

The park

The Osumi Canyons.

Albania Adventure Park sits just 500m from the Osumi Canyons — a monument of nature often called the “Colorado of Europe.” The canyons run 26km long and up to 450m above sea level, formed over 2–3 million years by water erosion.

Through their six gorges run countless underground passages and unexplored caves; many geographers consider them not just Albania’s largest canyon system, but among the largest in Europe. A resilient Mediterranean ecosystem of heath, briar and native fish has taken hold throughout, and erosion has sculpted the canyon walls into natural formations with names like “The Cathedral,” “The Eye” and “Demon’s Gate” — ranging from 1.5m wide at the riverbed to 35m wide higher up the slopes.

The river

The Vjosa River, Përmet.

One of Europe's last living wild rivers, with enough stream to raft all year round. Its rapids range from gentle to Class III, with a 2.5–3.5 hour run through open valley scenery quite different from the Osumi's sheer canyon walls.

The mountain

Mount Tomorr.

Long held as the region's holy mountain, Tomorr rewards a 6-hour hike — or a two-day mule caravan trail — with sweeping views over the valleys of southern Albania. Both routes finish with a night in Berat.

The town

Berat.

A UNESCO World Heritage town known as the "town of a thousand windows," Berat is our base for land adventures — eBike touring, traditional cooking classes, and a night at Hotel Castle Park between mountain days.
