Visit the Villages
Dardhë, Tomor, Lybeshë & Kapinovë — Mount Tomorr
Four villages sit in Mount Tomorr’s shadow, close enough that the mountain’s peaks seem to lean in over them. Visiting feels like time travel — people in these remote villages are still as genuinely pleased to welcome a visitor as they would have been generations ago, opening their homes with the same hospitality rituals. The old Albanian saying “bukë, kripë e zemër” — “bread, salt and a kind heart” — sums it up: whatever a host has, however little, they share it with their guest.
Drobonik — near Berat
Just 5km from Berat, Drobonik is home to the Church of St. Dimitri, a large three-nave church with high stone arches. Known locally as “the cherry village” for its orchards, it’s a stop on our eBike Tour of Berat.
Bogova — on the way to the Osumi Canyons
Bogova sits on the route to the Osumi Canyons and holds a beautiful waterfall — about a 40-minute walk from the village centre, inside a protected natural area.
